Main research topic in Health research in the Country:
All National S&T programs of Uzbekistan are formed and executed in the framework of priority fields of Science and Technology development of the country, which are followings: 1.Governance, Law, Economy; 2. History, philosophy, psychology, pedagogy; 3. Earth sciences; 4. Agriculture and life sciences, biotechnologies; 5. Health care; 6. Energy; 7. Information technologies. Ministry of Health is mainly carrying out scientific researches in following fields: Cardiology; Surgery; Urology; Microsurgery of eye; Endocrinology; pediatrics; Therapy; Dermatology and Venereology; Phthisiology and Pulmonology; Gynaecology. Among the priority researches to be financed through the ministry of health most important projects targeted to improvement of maternal and infant healthcare and measures against spread of infectious diseases including improvement of environmental conditions.
Research structure:
Special state programs were created for development of medical science and Health care system of Uzbekistan. Particularly, 179 programs of applied researches, 17 programs of fundamental researches, as well as 20 innovation programs have been developed for the last two years. In addition, 3 programs for supporting of young scientists’ fundamental researches are currently executing nowadays. In accordance with Uzbekistan Government decree in 2003 a number of specialized scientific research centers have been organized for realization of these programs:

Main grant schemes relevant to Health research in your country:
In Uzbekistan, the main source for support of R&D activities in medical sciences is government budget. The money to be allocated to researches in healthcare is formed from variety of sources including: 1) the fund of the ministry of health for fundamental, applied researches and innovative activities; 2) grants of the Committee for Coordination of S&T Development; 3) regional authorities’ programs for support of local scientists; 4) specialized aim-targeted applied programs developed by industrial ministries and state-owned enterprises; 5) foreign and international grants.
