Research structure:
The Georgia National Science Foundation, for the first time in Georgian history in 2006 organized and held the State Science Grants Competition based on experience of International and National Science Foundations dealing with Science Administration. The main objective of the Foundation is to organize and administer scientific grants through the state funding, and thus to provide fair and open competition on the basis of individual peer-review system by independent international and local experts in order to best identify and strengthen the scientific potential of Georgia. The GNSF aims to harmonize Georgia science with international standards, to further develop the Georgian cultural heritage research, to contribute to the world science achievements, and to further scientific research towards the creation of innovative technologies. The Georgia National Science Foundation among other activities holds and carries out State Grants Competitions. Georgia National Science Foundation collaborates with Scientific-Research Institutes
